Trevor Prior - Patient Outcomes, Vasyli Think Tank Conference 2011

Presentations:
- Achilles Tendinopathy
- Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome
When any patient presents with an injury which prevents or threatens performance, they are keen to return to activity as soon as possible and minimise the risk of recurrence. Many conditions respond to standard treatments but a full understanding of all the treatment options allows the clinician to educate the patient, providing guidance as to the most appropriate interventions for the individual and further treatment options if they do not respond.
For my two chosen subjects, I will be highlighting the evidence base, outlining the common biomechanical factors that contribute to the conditions and providing guidelines for a detailed management pathway. This will enable you, the clinician to have a structured approach to patient management which fulfils the desired outcomes of a quick and sustained return to activity.
Examples of specifics:
- Pathomechanics
- Investigations
- Common management strategies - including the role orthoses
- Shock wave therapy
- Injection therapy
I look forward to presenting my chosen subjects at the Vasyli Think Tank Conference on 21st and 22nd May 2011 - Whittlebury Hall Hotel, Northamptonshire, England. For further information about the event please click here.
