Vasyli Rearfoot Varus Wedge (5 Pairs)
The Vasyli Rearfoot Varus Wedge is a quick, chairside way to add rearfoot posting to an orthotic or insole. It tilts the heel by a set number of degrees, which helps control excessive pronation and keep the foot working in a more neutral position as the patient walks.
You get a choice of two inclinations to match the level of correction the foot needs. The 2 degree wedge suits a lighter post, while the Vasyli Rearfoot Varus Wedge 4 degrees option provides a stronger correction, and four degrees happens to be the amount many clinicians reach for as a standard starting point. Both are cut from firm, red-density EVA, so they hold their shape under load and stand up to long-term wear. Each pack contains 5 pairs, which keeps your additions well stocked for a busy clinic.
What a Rearfoot Varus Wedge Does
A rearfoot varus wedge is a medial heel post that raises the inside edge of the heel relative to the outside, inverting the rearfoot. That small change resists the foot rolling inwards, reducing both the range and the speed of rearfoot pronation through the gait cycle.
Because the wedge acts at the rearfoot, its influence travels further up the kinetic chain. Reducing pronation can lessen internal rotation of the tibia, which is why rearfoot posting often forms part of a wider plan for lower limb symptoms associated with overpronation.

Who These Varus Wedges Are For
These varus wedges are designed to be applied chairside, letting you adjust a patient`s device during the appointment. They pair naturally with Vasyli Signature and Vasyli Custom Orthotics, although the firm EVA can be applied to most prefabricated insoles.
If you are building up a full kit of corrections, the Vasyli Orthotic Additions Starter Pack brings the common wedges and additions together in one box.
Vasyli Rearfoot Varus Wedge FAQs
What is a rearfoot varus wedge used for?
Podiatrists use these to add medial rearfoot posting to a device chairside, controlling excessive pronation. It`s a quick way to trial or apply a correction during an appointment.
Should I order the 2 degree ir 4 degree wedge?
It depends on the degree of posting your prescriptions call for. The 2 degree gives a lighter correction and the 4 degree a firmer one. Four degrees is a common rearfoot posting standard, so it`s a sensible default to keep stocked, though many clinics hold both.
Will these fit the already used orthotics?
They`re designed to work with Vasyli orthotics, but the firm EVA can be applied to most prefabricated insoles and orthoses. Just check there`s room to take the post before you fit it.
