How to Use Ecrinal Nail Hardener
Ecrinal nail hardener should be applied to freshly cleaned nails, with nail polish removed and nails completely dry before application. Ensure that the nails are trimmed and filed to the desired length before application, as it will be more difficult to do this after the nail strengthener is applied.
Using the application brush, apply a thin, even layer to the nail, starting at the base and avoiding direct application onto the cuticle. Once applied, avoid making contact with the nail for at least 4 minutes following application to prevent smudging whilst the strengthener sets.
If a second coat is needed, this can be applied once the first coat has completely dried, however, this step is only necessary if the nails are especially weak and brittle.
Continue application 3 times per week for 2-4 months, depending on results.

FAQ
What leads to hard nails?
As well as consistently using a nail hardener, dietary changes such as eating more eggs, nuts, salmon, and lean meats can help strengthen your fingernails and toenails. This is because these foods are high in nutrients such as zinc, iron, omega-3s, protein, and biotin, all of which help promote healthy nail growth. Lifestyle changes can also help strengthen fingernails, such as avoiding contact with harsh chemicals by wearing gloves when cleaning or gardening.
What is the difference between a nail strengthener and a nail hardener?
Whilst these terms are commonly used interchangeably, they both have different purposes. A nail strengthener is designed to improve the overall health of the nail, nourishing the nails with proteins such as keratin and biotin so that they are less prone to breakage and peeling.
A nail hardener helps instantly harden the nail, reacting with the keratin in the nail to create a protective barrier which protects nails from further damage.
What are the underlying causes of brittle nails?
A poor diet can be a cause of brittle nails, as nails need the right nutrients to grow strong. Brittle nails can also be a sign of an underlying medical condition, such as thyroid issues, hormonal imbalances, or a skin condition such as eczema. Getting these underlying issues checked out and treated could help with brittle nails, alongside using a nail hardener.
