How to use
Pre-Operation Setup
- Check the Dust Bag: Ensure a fresh, empty dust bag is correctly installed inside the filter chamber before switching on. Never operate the drill without a bag.
- Insert the Burr: Push your chosen burr firmly into the handpiece chuck and ensure it is securely locked.
- Connect Power: Plug the control unit into a stable power source and switch it on.
Operating the Unit
- Turn on the Handpiece: Press the on/off button on the handpiece or activate rotation via the main touch display.
- Adjust Speed & Suction: Use the 5-inch glass touch display to set the desired RPM (5,000–40,000 RPM, depending on treatment) and adjust vacuum suction (140–230 L/min) according to the dust generated.
- Use Memory Presets: Select saved settings for commonly used speed and suction combinations for quick adjustment.
During Treatment
- Hold Correctly: Hold the lightweight 110g handpiece like a pen for greater precision and reduced wrist fatigue.
- Positioning: Keep the suction inlet close to the treatment area to capture nail dust and skin debris as it is generated.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Daily Disinfection: Switch off the unit and wipe the control unit and handpiece with a disinfectant approved for plastics and medical electronics.
- Autoclave the Front Section: Detach the removable stainless steel front section and sterilise it in an autoclave where required.
- Filter Changes: Replace the dust bag when full to maintain suction and protect the internal turbine. Replace the 3-layer exhaust filter periodically based on patient volume.
Primary Uses
- Thickened Toenails (Onychogryphosis): Rapidly debriding and reducing pathologically thickened nails back to a normal depth.
- Fungal Nail Infections (Onychomycosis): Filing down damaged, infected nail tissue. The integrated vacuum is critical here, as it safely captures highly contagious fungal spores.
- Smoothing Rough Edges: Tidying nail borders post-cutting to prevent snagging or developing ingrown toenails.
- Callus and Hard Skin Reduction: Shaving down thick layers of dead skin on the soles or heels of the feet.
- Corn Removal: Precision drilling to core out deep, painful helomas (corns) cleanly.
- Fissures and Cracked Heels: Smoothing down the rough, jagged edges of dry skin splits to promote healing.
